Baby Milestone Checklist: 2 to 18 Months (Interactive)
An interactive checklist of the CDC's developmental milestones at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months — tick what your baby does and take it to your next check-up.
Pick your baby’s age and tick the things they do now. The list uses the CDC’s Learn the Signs. Act Early. milestones, updated in 2022. Each one is something most children (75% or more) can do by that age. If your baby is missing a milestone, talk to your pediatrician; it isn’t a reason to panic.
Estimates for general guidance only — every baby is different. Ask your pediatrician about your own child.
How to use the checklist
- Check around each milestone age. Use the checklist close to the age shown, ideally before a well-child visit.
- Use adjusted age if your baby was born early. Our baby age calculator works it out for you.
- Bring your results. Note anything your baby isn’t doing yet and share it at the next check-up. Pediatricians also do formal developmental screening at 9, 18 and 30 months.
When to talk to your doctor sooner
Don’t wait for the next visit if your child loses skills they once had, or if you’re worried about how they play, learn, speak, act or move. You know your child best. In the US, you can also contact your state’s early intervention program directly; you don’t need a referral.
