Baby Age & Adjusted Age Calculator

See your baby's exact age in months, weeks and days, their adjusted (corrected) age if born early, and the next milestone checkpoint.

Enter your baby’s date of birth and how many weeks of pregnancy they were born at. If your baby arrived before 37 weeks, you’ll also see their adjusted age, which doctors use to track development.

Estimates for general guidance only — every baby is different. Ask your pediatrician about your own child.

What is adjusted age?

Adjusted (or corrected) age is your baby’s age counted from their due date rather than their birth date. A baby born 8 weeks early who is 6 months old has an adjusted age of about 4 months. Pediatricians typically use adjusted age for developmental milestones until about age 2.

Milestone checkpoints

The CDC’s milestone checklists are set at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 and 30 months, and then yearly. Most children (about 3 in 4) reach the listed milestones by those ages. See our month-by-month guide to baby milestones and how to support language development.

Trust your instincts If you’re worried about your baby’s development, talk to your pediatrician early. In the US you can also contact your state’s early intervention program directly — no referral needed.
