Baby Nap Schedule Calculator

Pick your baby's age and wake-up time to get a full day of naps and a bedtime, built on age-appropriate wake windows.

Choose your baby’s age and the time they usually wake up. The calculator builds a sample day of naps and a bedtime using typical wake windows for that age.

Estimates for general guidance only — every baby is different. Ask your pediatrician about your own child.

How it works

A wake window is the time your baby can comfortably stay awake between sleeps. Windows are shortest in the morning and longest before bed, and they grow as your baby gets older. The calculator adds each window and an average nap length in turn, then places bedtime after the final window.

Using the schedule

  • Treat it as a starting point — watch for sleepy cues and adjust by 10–15 minutes at a time.
  • Short naps are normal before 5–6 months; use an earlier bedtime after a day of catnaps.
  • Every sleep should be a safe sleep: on the back, in an empty crib or bassinet. See our safe sleep checklist.
